Named Storm Ian – 2022 – Update September 29.

After causing extreme destruction from the Central Gulf Coast of Florida across the state to the northeast, Named Storm Ian is emerging into the Atlantic near Jacksonville, Florida. “Ian” is currently a Tropical Storm and has caused catastrophic damage and flooding in Florida. Persons from the Atlantic Coast of Florida northward along the Coasts of Georgia, South and North Carolina and into Virginia should be monitoring the progress of this storm very carefully.

“Ian” had been nearly a Category 5 Hurricane and still has enough energy as a strong Tropical Storm to do more damage along the southeastern US coastline.
