Named Storm Ian – 2022 – has been one for the record books. There have been deaths and there has been destruction. We will not mention specific information about damage and casualties, because those numbers are still dynamic, as search, rescue and recovery efforts are still under way.
We will say that persons who did not heed the mandatory evacuation orders are mainly the ones who are casualties. We hope that this fact will not be ignored in future storms of this nature.
