Post event recap – Named Storms Helene and Milton – 2024.

Post event recap – Named Storms Helene and Milton – 2024.

The aftermath of both catastrophic storms includes death and destruction at levels not seen in well over 100 years or more.

Cleanup efforts from both storms will be on-going for a very long time and authorities are saying that victims are still missing and may never be located.

The damage estimates have not been released as yet but these two storms may set records in that regard.

Please keep the victims and all persons affected by these storms in thought and prayer and if you can make a donation to your favorite ‘National Help Agency’, please do so because their resources are all running low.

Thank you.

Named Storm Milton – 2024

Named Storm Milton formed in the southern Gulf of Mexico from a low pressure area. This storm is moving east northeast and will be intensifying. This storm system is forecast to reach the central Gulf Coast of Florida on Wednesday, October 9 and crossing Florida into Thursday, October 10. Persons along the entire Gulf Coast of Florida should be monitoring this storm very carefully. As of this time, NHC projections are leaning toward possibly a Category 3 or 4 Hurricane as it makes landfall. That may be modified as the storm moves across the Gulf of Mexico.

Persons along the Gulf Coast of Florida can expect storm surge, very heavy rain, high wave action, coastal lowlands flooding, strong and gusty winds, beach erosion, rip currents, significant power outages and some tornadoes. This will be a dangerous storm, crossing Florida near the same areas that have been affected by Hurricane Helene. Trees weakened by Helene may come down as Milton crosses Florida.
