Named Storm Peter formed from a Tropical Disturbance in the central Tropical Atlantic. This storm is moving generally northwest and is expected to track north of the Caribbean Islands and Hispaniola by mid week. This storm system will be moving into unfavorable conditions for development early this week and may not intensify much before being moved north and northeast into the North Atlantic by later this coming week. We will update details as needed, however with tracking models showing this storm as remaining out to sea, this may be our only mention of Named Storm Peter – 2021.
