Named Storm Ernesto – 2024 formed in the central tropical Atlantic from a low pressure wave. This storm will most likely make hurricane strength as it moves north of Puerto Rico August 14 into August 15. The storm will then move north and eventually northeast, staying in the north central Atlantic. Persons in Puerto, Hispaniola and Bermuda should be monitoring the progress of this storm carefully.
Since this storm will not be directly affecting the continental US, this may be our only mention of Named Storm Ernesto – 2024.
