Both Named Storms Leslie and Michael are slowly moving to the north by way of weak steering currents. By September 12-13, these storms will be picked up by the Jet Stream once again and will start moving further to the northeast. They will merge into one storm later next week over the Grand Banks of the northern Atlantic off Newfoundland. Persons along most of the East Coast of the US can espect high surf and dangerous rip currents along most beach areas. There will be no other direct US coastal involvement with these storms, however coastal Nova Scotia and Newfoundland will be affected as well as the off-shore commercial fishing grounds near The Grand Banks. This will be our final unofficial update on these two storms.
