A late season Tropical Storm formed from a tropical depression located just north of Panama. This storm rapidly intensified and is very close to Hurricane Category 1 strength. This storm will be influenced by an upper level system that will take it across Central America and into the Eastern Pacific in a few days. At this time, the storm is not anticipated to affect the US, so unless an unexpected north turn takes place, this will be our only mention of Named Storm Otto.
