Named Storm Helene – 2024: International storm modeling is showing an intensification cycle developing as the storm moves northerly off the Gulf Coast of Florida. Persons along the entire Gulf Coast of Florida can expect high gusty winds, high storm surge, high wave action, significant rainfall, coastal and inland flooding, flash flooding, some tornadoes and major power outages.
Mandatory evacuation orders are now being issued for many locations in Florida. Persons in Florida, should be making Major Hurricane preparations and should be following the updates and orders from local Emergency Management Offices. Persons in Georgia, the Carolina’s, Tennessee and southeastern and eastern Alabama should be monitoring local official advisories regarding this developing situation.

Invest 97-L / Potential Named Storm Helene – 2024.
EARLY UNOFFICIAL ADVISORY: Invest -97L is gathering some organization in the northwest Caribbean. This area of storminess may intensify into Named Storm Helene early this week. International forecast models are not in full agreement at this time, but persons along the eastern, northeastern and northern Gulf of Mexico should be monitoring this situation carefully. Some models from international sources are projecting this storm to reach major hurricane strength before landfall along the Panhandle of Florida later this week. However, this projection could change as the storm moves north and is influenced by other weather systems.
Persons along the Gulf Coast of Florida, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana, southern Georgia and far eastern Texas may be affected by this storminess as it gains strength and moves north.

Tropical Depression # 8 – 2024
Tropical Depression # 8 – 2024 formed rapidly off the coast of the Carolina’s from a low pressure area. Since this storm is so close to the coast, it may not have time to develop into a Tropical Storm. This storm system will be coming ashore near the North Carolina/South Carolina border area Monday, September 16, and will track inland almost due north. Persons in the Carolina’s can expect heavy rain, lowlands flooding, gusty winds, possible tornadoes, some power outages and minor coastal storm surge.
We are posting this information due to it’s close proximity to the coast and limited time for residents to prepare.

Named Storm Francine formed from a tropical depression in the far southwestern Gulf of Mexico. This storm will be moving generally north over the next few days, along the eastern Mexico and eastern Texas Gulf Coasts. Persons from the Texas/Mexico border along the coast to Louisiana, Mississippi and southwest Alabama should be carefully monitoring the progress of Named Storm Francine. Named Storm Ernesto – 2024 formed in the central tropical Atlantic from a low pressure wave. This storm will most likely make hurricane strength as it moves north of Puerto Rico August 14 into August 15. The storm will then move north and eventually northeast, staying in the north central Atlantic. Persons in Puerto, Hispaniola and Bermuda should be monitoring the progress of this storm carefully.

Tropical Depression 4 / Named Storm Debby – 2024 formed near Hispaniola and the Southern Bahamas from a tropical low pressure area. This storm will be tracking through the southeastern Gulf of Mexico over the next couple days. Some strengthening is forecast and persons in all of Florida should be monitoring the progress of this storm system. Heavy rain, gusty wind, high surf, beach erosion, strong rip currents and the possibility of tornadoes is expected along the Florida Gulf Coast. This storm system is projected to cross Florida from near Cedar Key on the Gulf side to near Jacksonville on or about Sunday, August 4.

Named Storm Beryl – Unofficial Update, July 5, 2024.
Named Storm Beryl – Unofficial Update. Persons in southeastern and Gulf Coastal Texas should be monitoring the progress of this storm carefully. The NWS has issued strong rip current advisories for most of the northern Gulf of Mexico from Florida to south eastern Texas.
Named Storm Beryl will be making landfall north of the Texas – Mexico border from late Sunday night into Monday morning. Heavy rain, strong wind, lightning, beach erosion, high wave action, some storm surge with flooding and the possibility of tornadoes will be possible along the Texas Gulf Coast and possibly far southwestern Louisiana.
